Although not a 3D modeler by training, I have spent a lot of time creating models for use within my applications. My models are created to be game-ready and use a standard PBR texture pipeline. My process usually involves creating a low poly texture in blender, then creating a high poly detailed version and baking the details down into a normal map in Substance Painter. After which I create the textures in Substance Painter. I have created a custom output in Substance Painter to export the textures in a Unity-Friendly format. Due to the number of models I need to make, I put my focus into speed and efficiency over perfection - optimizing my workflow to try and get things to look good as fast as possible.
